Aperitivo Time: How to make an authentic Italian aperitif at home?
Close your eyes.
Imagine the sun setting over the Grand Canal, the gentle lapping of the water, and the lively buzz of the Bacari (Venetian wine bars).
Can you picture it?
The good news is, you don't need to fly to Venice to experience la Dolce Vita. With three key ingredients, we'll bring the spirit of Venice right into your living room.
1. The Star of the Evening: Forget Champagne, Long Live Prosecco !
we tend to bring out Champagne for special occasions. But for a convivial, fresh, and sparkling aperitif, the undisputed king is Prosecco. A word of caution, though: don't confuse an industrial sparkling wine with a true Prosecco PDO (protected designation of origin).
Our Favorite ? The Prosecco DOC Brut Millésimé from Andrea Biasiotto.
- Why this one? It's a "Brut," so it's not very sweet, very fresh, and elegant..
- The guarantee of quality: It received the exceptional score of 94/100 from critic Luca Maroni.
- On the palate: Fine bubbles, notes of apple, banana, and white flowers.
MOs Tip: Serve it chilled (between 8°C and 10°C) but not ice-cold, and use a large glass to fully appreciate the aromas. This Prosecco is so high-quality that it's perfect on its own, but it also makes the ideal base for cocktails.
2. Snacking: Goodbye chips, hello Taralli !

Forget overly salty, mass-produced chips that mask the taste of your wine. In Puglia and throughout Italy, Taralli are a popular appetizer. These are small, oven-baked rings of dough with a unique texture: both crumbly and crunchy.
To accompany Prosecco, the perfect pairing is undoubtedly our Tomato and Basil Taralli.
Handcrafted by a small producer, they bring that sunny Mediterranean touch that pairs beautifully with the balanced acidity of the sparkling wine.
3. The Finishing Touch: Roasted Black Olives
EAn aperitif without olives is like Venice without gondolas. But here again, quality makes all the difference. For a change from classic green olives, try roasted black olives in olive oil. Their meltingly tender flesh and subtle smoky flavor add depth to your tasting experience.
The Quick Recipe: The Spritz by MO
If you want to transform your Biasiotto Prosecco into a legendary cocktail, here's the golden rule of 4-1:
- 4 parts Andrea Biasiotto Prosecco PDO
- 1 part of liquor (Limoncello, Bitter, Majora)
- Plenty of ice and a slice of organic orange.
Cin cin ! (Cheers !)
