Borgoluce is an estate that has made eco-sustainability and biodiversity its mission, encompassing 1,220 hectares of pastures, woodlands, livestock farms, cultivated fields, vineyards, orchards, canals, mills, and dairies. It is an unspoiled landscape that has been owned by the Collalto family since the 12th century—a time when such diversity allowed the estate to produce everything needed for daily life. Environmental responsibility permeates every activity and is put into practice through the use of renewable sources to generate agricultural energy. In fact, all the electricity and heat used on the farm are derived from by-products of the woodlands, livestock, and crops: wood is burned in a biomass boiler, while a biodigester converts manure and cereal silage into biogas. It is precisely this love for the land that drives Giuliana, Ninni, and Caterina di Collalto—along with their mother, Trinidad, and Caterina’s husband, Lodovico Giustiniani—to dedicate themselves passionately, day in and day out, to enhancing this unique Venetian heritage. Their goal is to teach future generations to understand and love the countryside, ultimately handing down a better place to live.
