Our history.

Caiaffa wines fully interpret the single commandment imposed by synergistic agriculture: everything is connected. It is a new, ancient way of conceiving nature as the sole great collaborator, since the environment surrounding the vineyard, if properly read and interpreted, contributes to the cause of those who cultivate it.

The family winery is located in Cerignola, on the hills bordering the legendary Tavoliere delle Puglie, a land where the Caiaffa family has banned the use of insecticides and pesticides and allowed flora and fauna to thrive, willingly renouncing the synthetic chemical products conventionally used, in order to encourage the presence of certain insect species that, by their nature, drive away others that would otherwise be harmful.

This is the meaning of this winemaking and family adventure: to witness the imperceptible yet constant swarming of nature, to encourage the open-air documentary that unfolds every day and which becomes so important not only for the harmony of ecosystems but also for Caiaffa wines, the fruit of this ancient world.

The medium-textured soils are rich in limestone, as the entire Tavoliere was once submerged by water. This has given rise to a delightful climate today, both mild and gentle. This is evident in the surrounding area, nestled between the Gravina and Gargano, which is rich in flora and fauna.

A strong and ancient land, restored by the Caiaffa family to its former glory as the third largest agricultural area in Italy. It is still marked by the rhythms of agriculture, which dictate and bind everything, just as the colors that fill its contours bind everything: the yellow of the wheat and the blue of the sky and the sea, which, just 4 km from the vineyards, defines that immovable two-tone landscape, a testament to the fact that, in this corner of Puglia, as in paradise, it never rains.
