The second release went towards the assembly of two different barrels, both filled in the first weeks of the distillery's life (2021), and now approaching its fourth birthday.
The first barrel, number 13, is the one with the greatest weight in the marrying. It is an ex-Bourbon (Jim Beam), declared as a first fill.
The second barrel is one of those we have already met at Strada Ferrata, more closely linked to their brewing DNA. Number 8 is an ex-sour beer barrel, made of French oak.
Both barrels were filled with the non-peated Monaco malt distillate.
Color: light gold
Nose: powdered sugar, citrus meringue, citrus juice (lemon, ripe lime, bergamot), tropical fruit (sour, unripe mango, squeezed guava), unripe nectarine, white chocolate, white pepper. Over time it develops floral notes, with hints of anise.
Palate: spicy entry, lots of candied ginger, then veering towards the lactic notes of white chocolate. Very oily texture.
Finish: acidulous, medium duration (but grows to medium-long with the second and third sip), balsamic note of thyme.
